Can I repair a chip without doing a full resurface/refinish?
Yes you can. If you have small chips or damage on an otherwise good surface, purchase our TUBBY Chip Repair kit. The chip repair kit is actually a small amount of the TUBBY bathtub enamel resurfacing/refinishing material which is applied directly to the damaged area. The kit contains toners so you can colour match the coating material to ensure a near invisible repair.
Which surfaces can be resurfaced/refinished with the TUBBY DIY kit?
The TUBBY material can be used on cast iron, pressed steel, plastic, fiberglass, ceramics, and marble surfaces.
Can TUBBY DIY be applied over other coating materials?
No. If your bathtub has been resurfaced/refinished previously, this coating should first be removed. If the surface is cast iron, pressed steel or a ceramic tile a good quality paint stripper can be used. If the surface is fiberglass, marble or plastic surfaces, do not use paint stripper, but use 120 grit waterpaper to sand away the previous coating until it has been removed.
What coverage does a TUBBY DIY kit provide?
One TUBBY DIY kit covers one regular 1.7m (5.6ft) bathtub surface (inside and front panel), or approximately 4m2 (36sq ft) surface area.
